This is a government sponsored program which provides eligible job seekers with help to find work by subisdizing their salaries for a pre-determined and agreed upon period of time but the job is intended to be long term. To participate, candidates must be on EI or have established a claim in the last 3 years (5 years if leave was parental).
These are not placements - they are regular jobs which require the applicant to interview for the position as well as go through a probationary period. When eligible participants are hired, it is because they have the skills to do the work, not because of the subsidy.
